How to use Got It Covered

The guide covers setting up the schedule, inviting the other parent, changing a day, swapping weekends, the info bank, the evening message and adding the calendar to your phone.

Quick answers

The other parent can't see my change
Changes to their days wait for them to accept. You'll see them as “Waiting for…” on Today until they do.
Notifications don't arrive on my iPhone
Open Got It Covered in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. Open it from the Home Screen and turn on notifications in Your account.
Can I keep my address private?
Yes. On Places, tick “Hide this address” on your home. Others still see the home's name on the schedule, but not where it is.
How do I remove a grandparent or childminder?
On People, choose Remove access next to them. It works straight away and their calendar link stops working.
How do I leave a family, or delete everything?
Your account has Leave next to each family, and Delete account at the bottom.

If you're not happy with our answer

For complaints about your personal information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. The ICO usually expects you to have complained to us first.

Our Privacy policy explains your rights over your information.

Your safety

  • Everyone in a family space sees what's in it. Only invite people you trust, and only add what helps with the children's day.
  • Hide your home address on Places if you'd rather the other household didn't know where you live.
  • Remove a caregiver on People at any time. You can leave a family from Your account.
  • Parents can't remove each other in the app, because each has a right to see their children's plans. If you're worried about the other parent having access, email us and we'll talk it through, and contact one of the services below. We can't change a court order.
  • Got It Covered keeps a history of changes. It isn't designed as evidence and isn't a substitute for legal advice.
